On The Edge of Everything

It all began back in our undergraduate degree at CU Boulder, where Emi Veliz (Yoko Music) and I were both a part of the CU Rave club. The club brought together audiophiles of all kinds, so when Emi moved into the apartment next to mine, our friendship deepened even more. Throughout the years, as we both progressed through our respective journeys, we would come together every so often and chat about how we dreamed of using music as a catalyst to promote social change that is desperately needed. So when Emi got the gig to be direct support at a sold-out show at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, she did not hesitate to bring me in for our first-ever debut of this new type of collaboration. In only a few days, we created this beautiful spoken word piece over some beats she created, and we had a unique start to her set. It was my first time getting up on stage at a sold-out show and performing - and as scary as that was, it was equally thrilling. The crowd was extremely receptive to our mission, and it’s safe to say that this is only the beginning.
