Emi Veliz: Yoko Music

“The universe has quite a comical way of unifying like-minded people and energies.

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty that this world undergoes, there’s a frequency that refuses to die out. This frequency rings as a passion to go against the grain, and to remind us of the true power we wield over our lives and the environment around us.

All my life, I felt this frequency and passion to affect positive change, but I never quite knew how to instill this drive in others, until Mikeyj came along. The vision he carries is one that I have been longing to intertwine in a live music setting, and to say I’m honored to share the stage with him is an understatement. I could think of no one more equipped to pave our path to a more sustainable and flourishing future.

It is truly the biggest blessing of my musical career to be able to collaborate with him on something so much bigger than ourselves. Out of my 9 years working in the music scene, I finally feel like I am proud when I walk off the stage. I am proud of not just our collaboration, but of the people in the crowd who voice their passion for the same goal that we so desperately strive toward.

Live music curates such an intimate and raw environment for people to open their ears and hearts to, so the fact that we can capitalize on the opportunity to reignite and motivate others for a common goal is incredibly grounding. The best part of it all, is knowing that we’ve just barely scratched the surface of our journey together.

I’ll preach it till I die; give this man 5 minutes of your time and it will change your perspective, your frequency, and your drive.”
